Support Groups
Girl Talk, Man Cave, Test Prep, etc.
PSE organizes and proctors peer events to address core educational, developmental, social and/or emotional challenges facing students today. Groups are, or can be designed, to ease social anxiety, prep for standardized tests, and cope with environmental stressors like peer pressure or conflict. PSE staff are uniquely qualified to engage students in dynamic group discussions and activities, utilizing developmental strategies not suited to one-on-one sessions.
In addition to design and hosting, PSE staff are trained to observe students' group behavior to identify and address signs of aggression, depression, or addiction. PSE recommends a maximum of 10:1 student to staff ratio to most effectively reach program goals.
Single and Multi-Day Events
Museum of Tolerance, College Tours, Experiential Trips to Blackbird Farm and Rocky Mountain Pathways Ranch, etc.
PSE plans and implements events designed to address critical goals outlined in student IEPs, including activities and trips that focus on inclusion, personal growth, college and career exploration, motor skill building, and social skill building including teamwork and positive communication. All events are designed for maximum student growth at minimal district cost. PSE will maintain a maximum student to staff/chaperone ratio of 8:1.
Guided Mainstreaming
PSE believes strongly in the concept of Guided Mainstreaming (GM) - supporting the IEP student's need to generalize and apply learned skills while actively engaged as a member of the community with participation from their non-disabled peers. We offer schools carefully calibrated single and multi-day events designed to increase positive outcomes for special education and general education populations.
Aligned with the objectives of the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), GM events are designed with structure and purpose, driven by both compliance requirements and applicable results. In addition to furthering inclusion, IEP students are supported by PSE staff to access and apply newly learned skills from activities focused on communication, seeking and preparing for employment, and independent living.
Staff Training
PSE staff offers single or multi-day training sessions to school administrators and/or staff on any topic related to special education best practices, virtual sped support, compliance, funding, parent training and support, staff and student safety, or general wellness. Drawing on its vast network of certified professionals, PSE leadership will work with you to design a program that meets the specific needs of your school.
PSE complies fully with HIPAA and FERPA guidelines and handles the storage and communication of district and student information with the highest level of security and confidentiality.
